As my first week as an Educational Technology Specialist comes to a close I wanted to take some time to reflect on the week and what I have learned thus far. After my first day back and work, and suffering from some serious jet lag, I was attending my endorsement class from 8-5 and checking in with my two fabulous principals, when I realized that there really needs to be two of me. I felt as if I was working double duty. I was logging seat time in class and completing assignments, and running to my two schools to check in.
As the week has progressed I felt like I got more into the swing of thing. I have realized that I am going to be a "different type of busy" this year. About this time of year, for the past five years, I have gone into m classroom, written names on my cute pencil name tags, and got my classroom perfectly ready for the first day of school. Not this year, which is nor good or bad, just different!
I am excited for this year, I am looking forward to the different. It will be really exciting to work directly with teachers to implement the use of technology to positively impact student learning. I am looking forward to finding new ways to use technology with our districts Reading Street and Envision programs.
